Has to be one of our favourites as we got married here!  You do have to book ahead but its worth every penny. A great special occasion place.  Or they do a great afternoon tea.

The best French onion soup this side of Paris.  Great atmosphere, lovely French inspired menu. Medium budget.

10 mins walk away from Ida's Nook. Good quality pub food in bar and restaurant.

Small family run Italian, serving traditional   Italian classics I'm pretty sure just as Nonna taught them back in Italy.  Delicious every time and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. 

They don't need wallpaper, the walls are covered floor to ceiling in bottles of wine.  Pick one and the knowledgeable staff will tell you its provenance, soil type, altitude, taste and, of course, what food it compliments.  The menu is innovative and utterly delicious.  Choose a few small plates to go with your wine choice. 

Their coffee is renowned world wide.  Stop here for a break in the sightseeing and meet the sommeliers of the coffee world who can recommend a coffee and method of brewing it to your tastes.  Friendly staff, nice atmosphere ... and you can take your bike in if you happened to cycle there.
